Forest taxation or inventory

Forest taxation or inventory is mandatory in order to:

  • determine the value of the forest;

  • to perform business activities in the forest, as well as to perform tree felling (except for the cases referred to in Section 12, Paragraph one, Clause 3 of the Latvian Republic Forest Law);

  • perform forest transformation (transformation of property into another type of land use, for example, agricultural land or building territory);

  • apply for state and EU funding / co-financing of forest sector support;

  • receive real estate tax rebates for owned young stands and restrictions on business activities (according to forest taxation data).
